2018 Triathlon Race Season in Review
It’s the end of August and the 2018 race
season is now largely behind us, but what a season it was.
TriFactor members showed up and competed hard
in each of the Triathlon Manitoba sanctioned events this year. TriFactor teammates raced in the Birds Hill
duathlons in May, Triple Threat, and St. Malo races in June, Kenora Borealis
and Hecla Island races in July and the Riding Mountain and Pinawa races this
past month.
Highlights included new
members’ first ever races at Birds Hill, personal bests at St. Malo and Hecla,
a 1-2 age group finish at Kenora, and age group placings galore at Pinawa in
all three distances. Special shout out
to Robert for racing his first local this year!
TriFactor members also completed at Ironman
Calgary in July, shattering a personal best time for Claudio (and gathering
some hard-won experience for Marc).
We all looked on jealously while Lesley
flew TriFactor’s colours on her ride through the French countryside in late
July and August. Lesley put on more than
650 kilometres through the vineyards, tunnels, and canals of eastern France. Way to go!
Finally, TriFactor alumnus John Power
killed it at Ironman Mont Trembly. Next
stop Kona?
Congratulations to everyone who ate up the
courses this year. Can’t wait to break a
few more records in 2019!
But, the season’s not yet quite over. We’ll be cheering on Stacey at Ironman
Maryland later in September.
Off season training coming up!
